What is Trupine?

Prestige Door, Inc. and Trupine Profiles, Inc. are both made from Trupine, a proprietary composite board made from 100% plantation grown pine. This renewable resource is ground into fibres, combined with resins and paraffin and pressed at over 60,000 psi.

This gives Trupine the desirable characteristics of pine (light weight, dimensional stability, tensile strength, screw and nail holding traits) without the undesirable traits (warping, knots, defects, splitting and size limitations).

Other manufacturers make medium and low density fiberboard, but don't be fooled by claims that their product is as good as Trupine. Boards made from various woods, pulp and by-products, waste and fillers that have no fibre matrix or content consistency - are pressed sawdust! They shrink, warp, don't hold a nail or screw and are 30% to 50% heavier than Trupine.
